Calmness, cool moments and relaxing holidays. If this is the ideal combination for your summer vacation, Kimolos is the perfect destination.
Kimolos belongs to the Cyclades islands, and it floats nearby Milos. It's a typical barren Cycladic island, with its northern part being wild and rocky, while its southern side is more mild and flat. Its waters are crystal-clear, hosting the largest population of the Mediterranean seal Monachus Monachus.
The island offers you the best choices with organized or secluded beaches. Psathi, near the port, is a beach with coarse sand. The picturesque port of the island will welcome you and show you the way to Chora, the village of the island. You will have your coffee and walk around the whitewashed paved streets, savoring the calmness of the Cycladic landscape. You will be impressed by the number of the churches that seem to sprout in every corner of the village. It's worth visiting Panagia Konomou, Chrisostomos, two churches of the 17th century, and Pantocrator.
In Prassa, the white sand and the turquoise waters will enchant you. In Bonatsa, there is an organized beach, but also enough space if you prefer to open your own beach umbrella. Karas beach is an ideal spot for taking a dive. The access is not easy, but it's worth visiting.
You should definitely try Ladenia, the local pizza with tomato and onions, as well as the cheese pie Tyrenia.
